Pressure washing hard landscaping

During the wet months, slabs and paving can become covered in green algae, moss or mildew, this can look unattractive and also can be very dangerous as it is very slippery.
My task for this garden was to wash down the hard areas, removing this growth and making the floors safe to walk on again.

The first area that i cleaned was the pond and water feature surround, this is in shade for a lot of the day and as there is obviously a lot of water, it get's a heavy build up of green algae. After the pressure washer had been used, it looked as good as new.
Next i moved on to the patio areas next to the house. I was quite surprised how much dirt came off these areas at, at first glace, they looked very clean, but the power of the pressure washer took a year's build up of dirt away with no problem.
I then moved out to the front of the house, first was the car parking area. I had the ask the owner of the house to kindly move their car so that i could gain full access.

This was a very satisfying area to do, as there was a very big change in colour between the before and after shots. Wearing wellingtons and waterproof trousers was great as i would have been soaked through otherwise.
the last sections were the front steps. As this is a very old and historic building, and the front steps are original features, i had to be very careful because they are showing their age and i didn't want to damage them any more with a high pressure lance.

It was a long job and took a lot more time than i expected it to, but the property looked incredible when the water had dried and the sun came out at the end of the day.

Overall, a very satisfying job, and more importantly, the home owner was very happy with the end result.
