At the time of the year the roses that were pruned at the beginning of the year are starting to shoot again. We want to give these the best chance of growing big and strong with a really special display of healthy foliage and, more importantly, beautiful flowers.

In this particular garden there are a lot of roses.

I used 'Vitax Organic Rose Food' which has NPK values of 4-2.5-8.5. The highest value is Phosphorus, this will be good for strong roots, the next highest value is Potassium, this will be great to help grow those big healthy flowers.

The technique was to scatter a handful (roughly 25 grams) of feed per rose, just around the base of the plant.

After scattering the fertiliser, i gently agitated the soil with a hoe, this mixes the soil and fertiliser.

The fertiliser will release the nutrients slowly over the season.

Now we wait to see the results.
